Harbor Seals Are Molting

Ranger Sarah Lenz reports:
Molting season is in full swing right now for the harbor seals.

This is the time of year that I generally see the most seals hauled out for the longest periods along the beaches at Fitzgerald.

This morning there are about 110 seals resting on the main beach!

A Blue-ribbon Fourth of July

This year the creativity of the volunteers from Friends of Fitzgerald Marine Reserve who walked in Half Moon Bay’s holiday parade was rewarded with a FIRST PRIZE BLUE RIBBON for their Marching Unit! Congratulations gang!
